Fabio Paratici, the former managing director, was an unexpected visitor at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night to watch the thrilling match against Chelsea.
Paratici, who joined the team in the summer of 2021, played a key role in several of the changes that Spurs has undergone in recent years.
Along with pushing through the signings of players like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and Rodrigo Bentancur, the Italian assisted in the hiring of Antonio Conte.
But when Paratici was found guilty of being a part of Juventus’ financial scandal, his past finally caught up with him. After being handed a 30-month worldwide football ban in April, Paratici resigned from his position at Tottenham.
Nevertheless, throughout his suspension, Paratici was still permitted to work as a consultant for the North London club.
At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, special guests
Gareth Bale was one of Tottenham Hotspur’s own returning for the London derby against Chelsea last two nights, but the Welshman wasn’t the only one seen in the stands for the major match.
The Daily Mail claims that Paratici was also observed to be “in attendance” at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As late as October, it was revealed that Paratici continued to serve as an advisor for Spurs (Athletic) even after resigning from his official position with the team. But many believed that after Rob Mackenzie and Johan Lange were hired, his relationship would end.
It’s unclear why Paratici was there specifically and if he was there for personal or business reasons at the stadium.
Romero, a player Paratici had advised Tottenham to sign, sadly had to watch as his stupid red card led to Tottenham’s surrender.
There’s nothing suspicious about Paratici’s attendance at the game, I’m sure of it. Anyone would be thrilled to attend such a big match, so I assume he just fancied watching it live. Though I doubt I could have tolerated the stress, I would say I wish I could have been there.
