Prior to January, Marc Guehi is still Tottenham Hotspur’s top center-back target, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.
Taylor was discussing Tottenham’s long-standing interest in Guehi on the “Spurs Chat Podcast.”
Although the reporter acknowledged that Crystal Palace would ask for a “excessive” price for their star player, Spurs truly value the center back.
Taylor stated on the podcast: “Marc Guehi is another name that you haven’t mentioned. He is reportedly one of the top center-back targets, from what I understand.
Although it’s pretty clear that Palace won’t part with him without asking for a hefty price, Spurs truly value him.
Johan Lange has only recently joined, of course, but I believe Tottenham has been keeping an eye on Guehi for a while.
“Paratici, who is obviously still connected with the club, presumably as a consultant, thought highly of him.
Thus, many of their goals are being carried over from earlier transfer windows, especially from the summer, when Ange was hoping to add a second center back.
Taylor claims that Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace is still a target for Tottenham.
Naturally, Taylor’s comment about Ange Postecoglou’s wish for an additional center back in the summer is especially relevant at this point.
Ben Davies and Eric Dier ultimately had a challenging afternoon at Wolves, failing to lead a forward-thinking performance.
Micah Richards has acknowledged that he feels sorry for Dier, even though he thought Dier made a good defense at points.
But it’s obvious that Tottenham could use someone like Guehi in their lineup.
Additionally, Palace is likely to demand a higher price, even though a price tag of approximately £50 million has previously been mentioned.
Taylor’s acknowledgement that everyone at Tottenham appears to agree on Guehi’s quality, though, may indicate that a deal is still conceivable.
If Guehi did show up, he might even force Cristian Romero out of the starting lineup.
When he’s back fit, Micky van de Ven’s spot in the back line is unquestionably fixed.
Romero had an extremely promising start, but he has now shown that, under Postecoglou, he can still be a liability.
January will undoubtedly see Daniel Levy and his manager tackling a lot of tasks.
It will be interesting to observe whether Spurs, despite their current setbacks, choose to gradually assemble their team or take action in the near future.
