Wide receiver was doubtful to play against the Rams, but he has six catches.
Hollywood Brown, a wide receiver, stood in front of his locker sporting a look of pain and disappointment along with some eye black left on his face.
The Cardinals’ 37-14 loss to the Rams on Sunday was the source of disappointment. Brown had suffered a heel injury earlier in the week, which was the cause of the pain.
Brown didn’t want to miss the game even though he missed practice on Thursday and Friday due to wide receiver Michael Wilson’s injury.
Brown stated, “It was really just to see if I can do it.” It’s one of those things where you just have to get over it, and I managed to do so. was regrettable that we didn’t obtain the desired results.”
There have been doubts regarding the relationship between quarterback Kyler Murray and his best friend during the first two games of his comeback. Three catches for a total of 46 yards were all that Brown had in two games against the Texans and Falcons.
Both Brown and Murray have stated that it will take time and they won’t push the connection. On paper, Brown’s six receptions for 88 yards to finish as the Cardinals’ top receiver on Sunday gave the impression that progress had been made.
Brown was not of that opinion postgame.
Brown remarked, “I don’t really look at it like we had a good connection because we lost the game. We got into like a throwing match at the end.” “It hurts that we didn’t win this game because it took a lot for me to even be able to play.”
The offense was clearly in passing situations with the Cardinals trailing by as many as 29 points. Murray scored 256 yards on 27 of 45 attempts. Of those, Brown was the target of twelve attempts.
“You drop back and try to make something happen when you get into those kinds of games,” Murray said. You’re essentially playing backyard football at that point. It’s evident that they are pulling their ears back, and we need to take action. At that point, that’s essentially what matters.”
Following the defeat, it was clear that Brown and his teammates were hurting in a variety of ways. However, they’re not giving up and realized that it was time to get ready for their trip to Pittsburgh the following week.
Brown stated, “All we have to do is unite as a group.” “We’re just trying to keep getting better as a team and individually because you never know how the NFL operates.”
