Despite liking Cristian Romero’s assistance on the field when playing for Argentina, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández called the Tottenham defender “crazy.”
The midfield player, who has been reflecting on Argentina’s World Cup triumph nearly a year ago, made comments for AS today.
After a thrilling 3-3 draw with France in one of the greatest World Cup finals ever, the Albiceleste won the championship in Qatar the previous year.
Due of this, he and his colleagues were unable to contain Kylian Mbappe, the standout striker for France, who scored a hat-trick in the match, including a penalty kick in the 118th minute that tied the score in extra time.
Due to some of the Argentina team’s activities during the match, the game turned out to be, to put it mildly, contentious.
One in particular sticks out: as Mbappe was celebrating one of his team’s scores, a Tottenham defender was actually screaming and cheering in his face.
He then disclosed that he had taken advantage of the opportunity to get retribution after the Chelsea midfielder and the PSG player had argued earlier in the game. Even though he believes the Tottenham player is a little bit wild, Fernández respects that.
The Chelsea player told Star+, as reported by AS, “I remember what he told me, things about the game.”
“We enjoyed watching certain plays together, such as those in which Mbappe and I were divided, and he made threats against us.” He assured us they will prevail in the championship game.
