Daniel Ricciardo, a driver for AlphaTauri, claims that his qualifying times were a weakness when he returned to the grid in the second half of 2023.
Throughout his seven rounds of competition, the seasoned Ricciardo lost his qualifying match against teammate Yuki Tsunoda 4-3. He was eliminated twice in the first round in Belgium and Brazil and only made it to the third round once in Mexico.
He remarked, “If I look at Brazil and [Abu Dhabi], qualifying was kind of the weak point.” And while I might not have put together the best lap, I will accept some of the blame for that.
Brazil obviously lost a lap in the race, but given our pace, I believe we could have finished well inside the points. There are undoubtedly ifs, buts, and maybes, but the pace is there, and it’s most likely just figuring out the one-lap pace. There are many reasons for optimism, aside from Mexico and a few others.
“What ifs” are forbidden at Ferrari by Vasseur
According to Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, his team is not allowed to brood over their defeat to Mercedes in the constructors’ championship, where they came in second.
The team lost by just three points to finish as runners-up in the championship. When asked how many points he thought Ferrari would have scored in a perfect season devoid of misfortunes, Vasseur said he wouldn’t even consider the idea.

Finding an excuse is not necessary because we are to blame. We don’t say this because that’s where we are; rather, it’s that “if this…” Where we still need to get better, etc. There is no doubt that it has enormous point potential.
Verstappen signs on to Broadbent’s charity simulation
three times as a new crown World champion driver Max Verstappen of Formula 1 is taking part in a charity endurance sim race hosted by well-known sim racer Jimmy Broadbent.
Verstappen is driving the #420 vehicle, which is presently leading the 23-hour charity endurance race around the Zolder circuit on the iRacing platform, as of this writing. The event is benefiting the Mind mental health charity, and well before half-way through, it had raised the $25,000 it needed to, in part because viewers could impose fines on any driver they wanted by making eligible donations.
