Tottenham is planning a move to acquire a record-breaking attacker who has contributed 24 goals this season.
According to reports, Santiago Gimenez, a striker for Feyenoord, is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
The striker is expected to cost more than £60 million, according to a Football Insider report, and the Dutch team does not want to pay for him during the January transfer window.
Feyenoord intends to hang onto him through the end of the season in an attempt to win the league title. Teams like Chelsea and Arsenal will compete against Tottenham.
The 22-year-old recently broke Luis Suarez’s record for the most Eredivisie goals in a calendar year, scoring 31 goals in 35 games. Gimenez has been an incredible player for Feyenoord for the past year.
This season, the attacker has also been in excellent form, tallying 20 goals and dishing out four assists. He scored 28 goals last season to assist Feyenoord in winning the league.
He is without a doubt a skilled goal scorer, and with the right guidance and experience, he has the potential to become a premier striker. Spurs have not yet added a specialized striker to replace Harry Kane, and the Mexico international might be the best fit.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to break the bank for him. They will need to secure Champions League qualification in order to attract a talent like him and they must look to move swiftly in order to beat rivals like Arsenal and Chelsea to his signature.
