With the exception of a rough November and some serious injury issues this season, new manager Ange Postecoglou’s first season in the dugout has been quite the ride.
After joining from Celtic in June, the Australian had the greatest start as a new manager in Premier League history, winning eight of his first ten games in charge.
Most of the time, his aggressive, high-octane style has won over both critics and supporters as Spurs fight for Champions League qualification. The positive vibe surrounding Tottenham and the restored confidence in their manager is a far cry from Antonio Conte’s disappointing final few months as the Lilywhites’ manager.
Destiny Udogie, one of their standout players during this time, was just given new terms and a contract that extends until 2030. According to reports, Son Heung-min could be brought down by the Spurs after the Italian, with Postecoglou’s captain effectively taking over from Harry Kane.
Additionally, Fabrizio Romano hinted that young midfielder Pieter Matar Sarr might be getting a new, better contract. The 21-year-old is having a fantastic season as one of Tottenham’s unexpected success stories, frequently working well in midfield with players like Yves Bissouma.

In an interview with GiveMeSport this week, reporter Paul Brown suggested that if Spurs are successful in landing new contracts for both Sarr and Son, it would be a “huge boost.”
The Tottenham pair are essential components of Postecoglou’s adaptable attacking scheme, and Brown thinks the Spurs won’t have any trouble re-signing Sarr and Son.
Both of them have grown to be very significant players for the Spurs. Son was always going to be a major player once Kane left, but I don’t think anyone realized how important Sarr would become,” Brown told GMS.
“I believe that signing them both to long-term contracts would be extremely beneficial for Spurs, and since they both appear content there, it doesn’t appear that this will be a problem. It’s evident that players playing under Postecoglou are grinning once more, so I don’t think it will be too difficult to convince them to sign long-term contracts.”
Son has particularly found a new lease of life this season, playing both out wide and more centrally at times after a challenging 2022–2023 under Conte. The 31-year-old seems to have found his style again, as Postecoglou has complimented the South Korean multiple times.
Following his heroics in the 2-2 draw in the North London Derby, Postecoglou said, “He’s been outstanding as a leader and as a player.”
