Jim Harbaugh of Michigan football was trolling The Simpsons.
Nobody is immune to The Simpsons’ hilarious wrath. It wasn’t safe even for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football team under JJ McCarthy. The program parodied the recent controversy surrounding sign-stealing, which had many teams across the country scratching their heads. The NCAA is still looking into every detail of the situation. However, it didn’t stop Bart Simpson from making light of the circumstance on FOX.
At the Jim Harbaugh Center for Competitive Imbalance, Bart Simpson was a teacher. This was a jab at the Michigan football program, which was widely accused of being unfair to other rival schools because they were sending scouts across the country. The character would then be forced by The Simpsons to teach “Intro to Cheating 101.”
Respect for the Michigan football program has been impeded by this controversy. The Wolverines’ post-game antics have drawn criticism from coaches such as Ryan Walters. A few even went so far as to openly denounce it. Despite the seriousness of these charges, Harbaugh has kept silent about them and refuted every accusation made against the team.
Discipline measures have been implemented for the team. Harbaugh was barred from coaching the Michigan football team for the final three games of the season, which was captained by JJ McCarthy. Nevertheless, despite this hardship, the team persevered and ended the season winless.
Football will take precedence over any other sanctions before they have to worry about any more of those. Especially when it comes to facing Alabama in the Rose Bowl.
