On Monday, a large number of NFL prospects will be competing at the Rose Bowl.

L.A., California — In the near future, a lot of the players who are anticipated to be stars in Monday’s College Football Playoff national semifinal—which pits No. 1 Michigan against No. 4 Alabama at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN—will probably also be playing on Sundays.

Draft strategy for the 2024 NFL Draft is being assembled by NFL scouts and general managers as the college football season approaches its conclusion. There’s a good chance that a large number of Wolverine and Crimson Tide players will be chosen in late April.

Because of this, these postseason games provide these elite prospects one more chance to play against elite opposition and make an impression that could significantly improve (or detract from) their draft stock.

Former NFL executive and current writer for The Athletic Randy Mueller stated, “A lot of NFL decision-makers have not done the film work yet.” A bowl game, or occasionally even an all-star game, could be a coach’s initial thought. They won’t be as focused on the first few regular season games and more on these impressions.

There are a lot of Alabama and Michigan players scattered throughout the many NFL mock drafts from CBS Sports, ESPN, The Athletic, Pro Football Focus, and other sources. Here are a few that different talent evaluators have found appealing.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Alabama starting running back Jase McClellan has returned to practice as a full participant ahead of the Crimson Tide’s College Football Playoff semifinal against No. 1 Michigan, sources tell BamaCentral.

McClellan practiced without a black injury designation on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles. He missed the SEC title game against then-No. 1 Georgia on Dec. 2 with a foot injury. He had been absent from practice for a while, but is now back healthy.

McClellan’s likely return will be a huge boost for the Crimson Tide (12-1, 8-0 SEC). He is Alabama’s leading rusher with 803 yards on the season. He also has six touchdowns.

Head coach Nick Saban seemed optimistic about McClellan’s status during the Crimson Tide’s team appearance at Disneyland on Wednesday. “Jase is doing great,” Saban said. “Looks good. We gave him a lot of time off to heal his foot and it looks like it paid off.”

The Wolverines (13-0, 9-0 Big Ten) boast the No. 5 rushing defense in all of college football, allowing just over 87 yards on the ground per game. Michigan is allowing just 2.93 yards per carry against its opponents this season
