Hugo Lloris will officially be leaving Tottenham Hotspur as his move to Los Angeles FC has been confirmed, and the former Spurs skipper has shared an emotional goodbye with fans on social media.
After 11 years in North London, Lloris will move on to pastures new with a transfer to MLS side Los Angeles FC on the horizon, as confirmed by the club just moments ago.
After joining the Spurs in 2012, Lloris made 444 appearances for the team (Transfermarkt). He captained the team until the summer, when Heung-min Son took his place.
After a dismal season the previous year, Lloris’s career at Spurs appeared virtually sealed with the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario as the team’s new starting goalkeeper this summer.
Fans of the Lilywhites, however, will remember the Frenchman with affection because he guided the team through some of its most prosperous and entertaining years to date.

Upon the confirmation of his imminent exit, Lloris shared a message via the Spurs Twitter account, thanking the
for the last 11 years of support, supporters.
“This is a personal message to all the Spurs fans,” he stated. I wanted to express my gratitude for all of your help from the beginning. Being one of you and your captain has been an enormous honor. You will always remain in my heart, even after 11 years, and I feel like this is the end of a chapter.
“My family and I will always hold a particular place in our hearts for the Spurs, and on their behalf, I would want to express our gratitude for all the experiences, memories, and feelings we shared that we had together. You deserve the best, thus I want to wish you the best.
It is very sad to see Hugo leave, and it really does feel like the end of an era in many ways. He has been a magnificent servant to the club over the years and led us to some incredible highs as a football club. We wish him all the best in the USA, and will be watching Los Angeles FC very closely from now on.
