Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White delivered a pretty damning verdict on Manchester United prior to yesterday’s game. The comments made by the 23-year-old were picked up on Match of the Day as the team entered their pre-match huddle.
It appears like Forest is once again under Nuno Espirito Santo.The Reds humiliated Manchester United, winning 2-1, to cap off a magnificent 3-1 victory over Newcastle on Boxing Day.
In this one, Gibbs-White proved to be the match-winner. After Marcus Rashford had negated Nicolas Dominguez’s initial goal, he produced a stunning goal.
Under Espirito Santo, the forest appears to be a different beast. In the end, Erik ten Hag’s team was second best for the majority of this match as the Reds played on the front foot versus United once more.

Match of the Day was able to get some incredible video from Gibbs-White. Even though he wasn’t the captain yesterday, it was his responsibility to muster the team in the pre-game huddle prior to kickoff.
With his teammates listening closely, he was seen pointing toward the United players and appearing to declare, “They don’t want this, honestly they don’t want this today.”
Gibbs-White obviously had a sixth sense because United didn’t appear to be a team that was a serious contender. In all competitions during the previous season, United defeated Forest four times, completely dominating the Reds each time.
Gibbs-White is a real leader of the pack
The 23-year-old Forest playmaker has a very grown-up demeanor, as demonstrated by this performance by Gibbs-White. He has had a successful Christmas season and is currently exuding class.
How much Gibbs-White would have been loved by United if he had been on the team yesterday. By the end, he was so exhausted from his intense exertion that he could hardly move! He covered every blade of grass!
With a magnificent goal, Gibbs-White gave Forest a crucial three points. Although he will be trying to improve his game with more goals and assists, he is showing encouraging early results under Espirito Santo.
