Rumor has it that Celtic’s gaze has been drawn to Owen Beck, the left-back for Liverpool. But it’s not just the Bhoys who are reportedly interested in the young talent; it’s also rumored that their old friends from all around Glasgow are.
Both teams, according to SunSport, have reportedly been discreetly inquiring about Beck’s circumstances. This is particularly noteworthy given that Liverpool recently recalled Beck from his position at Dundee. This is a boy who was competing on the field against Celtic on Boxing Day only a week ago.
But it appears that Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield team have other ideas, as they intend to keep Beck wearing Liverpool uniforms for the remainder of the campaign. There are rumors circulating that Klopp sees something unique in him—possibly a spark—that he isn’t quite ready to let go of.
Celtic is currently searching for a left-back to add to their roster. The problem is that, despite his talent, Beck might not be the flawless gem that the hoops fanbase has been dreaming of. Indeed, in the upcoming years, the boy might prove to be a true talent that gets you to pay attention. But is he prepared to lead Celtic in that capacity?
To have not at least inquired about Beck would have been foolish. After all, occasionally a raw player who is a little green around the edges but has the potential to be a player appears.
After the Hearts loss in December, Celtic supporters are not as nervous about the transfer window. The Bhoys have since won every one of their four league games, including a derby victory over the Rangers.
But it would be foolish not to make the necessary strengthening in January.
