The top running back in the cycle for 2025 commits to the Tigers, and Kelly adds another highly sought-after player.
The choice has been made. The top-ranked running back in America, Harlem Berry, has declared his loyalty to LSU coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
After choosing the Bayou Bengals over Florida and Texas for his collegiate career, the top player in Louisiana will continue to play ball at home.
At the Under Armour All-American Game on Wednesday night, Berry declared his intention to attend college. At the game in Orlando, Florida, he became the first-ever underclassman to commit.
Following a busy fall season filled with unofficial visits, Berry has now ended his recruitment and committed to the LSU Tigers.
The program-changing 5-foot-11, 175-pound speedster from St. Martin’s Episcopal in Metairie, Louisiana, will only prolong the glut of riches in LSU’s running back room in the near future.
On “The Trail,” Frank Wilson has once again done it. The recruiting wizard struck gold again with this one, rarely missing out on the best players in the Bayou State, especially at running back.
After attending game days in Death Valley for both the Florida and Auburn games this fall, Berry made two unofficial trips to LSU.
It turned into a star-studded event in Baton Rouge with 4-star LSU commit Keylan Moses, 5-star LSU commit Dakorien Moore, and 5-star LSU target Bryce Underwood joining them for the Auburn game.
This week, the first significant domino has now fallen. In addition to Berry committing to college, Bryce Underwood, the top player in the 2025 class, will also make a decision this week.
LSU is one of Underwood’s finalists, and he will make an announcement on Saturday, January 6. The Tigers are still the team to beat in his recruitment as things stand.
LSU will take in Berry’s dedication for the time being. He is the second five-star prospect to commit to the Bayou Bengals in the 2025 cycle and is considered one of the best players in America.
There has been discussion about the potentially transformative 2025 class, and as the pieces keep falling into place, it appears that this will be a unique group traveling to Baton Rouge in the coming year.
In the 2025 cycle, Berry becomes the seventh player to commit to LSU, following:
– Dakorien Moore (5-star WR)
– Keylan Moses (4-star LB)
– JD LaFleur (4-star TE)
– Brett Bordelon (4-star OL)
– TaRon Francis (4-star WR)
– Jaylen Bell (3-star CB)
Although Berry won’t sign a contract until December of next year, he already has a firm grasp on LSU after announcing to LSU Country that he would enroll early in January of 2025.
With Berry’s commitment, Kelly and company land another big fish as a hectic January gets off to an amazing start.
