A Key Player From Michigan Recently Got An Injury in…
Just a handful of college football recruits have earned 100+ ratings since the start of the Top247 era in 2010, and just eight of them are suiting up to play in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs this week. We’re looking back at the collegiate and pro careers of these former elite prospects and ranking them based on their high school recruiting profile. Defensive linemen pepper these rankings, filling five of the eight spots. South Carolina legend Jadeveon Clowney and former Michigan star Rashan Gary are among the most notable names on the list.
Michigan signed 27 prospects in the early signing period for the 2024 cycle, but have continued to work to add to its recruiting class with most notably Burley (ID.) four-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair. However, the Wolverines aren’t leaving any stones unturned and continue to monitor the recruiting landscape with coaches coming and going.
I caught up with a few of my best NFL agent sources earlier today to pick their brains re what they’re hearing on the Harbaugh front. As was mentioned in my earlier 3R report, they’re all of the mind the NFL would out-bid Michigan for Harbaugh. I shared my belief that money wouldn’t be the deciding factor, and that say in front office decisions would loom large too. One of the aforementioned agent sources from one of the more renowned sports agencies pushed back on my view of things.
Clowney is enjoying a career revival on the AFC favorite Baltimore Ravens, while Gary continues to anchor the defensive line of the upset-minded Green Bay Packers. We built these rankings on the overall recruiting rating for each player and arranged it further with each player’s overall ranking in their respective class in mind. In case of ties, we deferred to the 247Sports Composite score.
