Sad News From Detroit Lions Today…….
ALLEN PARK — Detroit and other cities are engulfed in a playoff frenzy. The most expensive home playoff games in NFL history were played by the Lions in the divisional and wild-card rounds. Their TV audience is growing rapidly. Since the Super Bowl last year, their thrilling game against the Los Angeles Rams was the most watched prime-time TV event.
The Lions seem to be establishing themselves as one of America’s teams at the moment.
However, the national media is also giving Detroit another look, albeit with some sardonic commentary. Already, you’re seeing news about kneecaps all over the internet. Stephen A. Smith of ESPN stated just this week that Detroit was “on a respirator” before to the Lions’ postseason run.

Following the Lions’ victory over Tampa Bay in the divisional round, this was his analysis: “Well done, Lions. It’s your right to be blown away in San Francisco. However, fantastic year.

On 97.1 The Ticket, quarterback Jared Goff—who is accustomed to receiving criticism of all kinds—was questioned about whether or not he reads the content posted on the bulletin board.

Skip didn’t need to say anything else to Goff.
Goff cut him off, saying, “No, I don’t care about anything he says.” “At this point, you can stop. You can ignore anything those people say on daytime television.

For what it’s worth, Goff has been great in the playoffs. He’s completed 74.3% of his passes — tops in the playoffs — for 564 yards, three touchdowns, no turnovers of any kind and a passer rating of 111.85. Goff has now become the first Lions quarterback to win multiple playoff games since Tobin Rote in 1957, and he’s done it without trailing for a single second.
“I don’t want to say this arrogantly, but we expected to win the first (playoff) game, we expected to win this game (against Tampa),” Goff said. ”Now we get to go to a game we expected to be in against a really good team at their place, and we’re going to come into it expecting to win.”
