The purchase had not been consummated when the individual talked with the AP, so they spoke under condition of anonymity.

BEREA, OHIO — Following a brief and unexpected season with the Browns, Joe Flacco may return to Cleveland for a second season, perhaps to back up Deshaun Watson.
Following Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury, general manager Andrew Berry stated on Monday that he would “absolutely love” to re-sign the 39-year-old Flacco, who went 4-1 as a starter and assisted the Browns in making the playoffs.
Berry acknowledged that Flacco might be unable to return due to budgetary constraints, but he expressed openness to the idea.
“He played winning football for us,” Berry said at his press conference to wrap up the season. “I would like to have all of our talented players return, but there are limitations. Actually, I kind of lean both ways.
